LICENSING AND ORGANIZATIONAL USE

TICA Learning Systems creates practical workbooks, instructor guides, and training materials for professionals and organizations that support entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, government contractors, civic participants, and individuals navigating major life decisions.

Our licensing options allow advisors, educators, healthcare providers, community organizations, and other professionals to use selected TICA resources with the people they serve.

Choose the Right Type of Use

Purchasing a workbook does not automatically include permission to copy, distribute, modify, or reuse it with multiple clients or participants. The license you need depends on who will use the resource and how it will be delivered.

Personal or Household Use

A personal-use license is intended for one individual or household working through a guide for its own needs.

Depending on the product, a household license may allow two people involved in the same decision, such as a couple considering remarriage, to print or complete separate working copies.

Personal-use materials may not be distributed to clients, workshop participants, members, patients, or the public.

Individual Professional Use

An individual professional license is designed for one advisor, coach, consultant, counselor, educator, facilitator, or other professional.

The license may permit the professional to use the guide as part of their work, refer to its framework during client conversations, and use an accompanying instructor guide when one is included.

An individual professional license does not permit unlimited reproduction of participant workbooks. A separate workbook or authorized copy is required for each client or participant unless the product description states otherwise.

The license belongs to the named professional and may not be shared across a team or organization.

Workshop and Cohort Use

Workshop and cohort licenses are available for organizations or facilitators using a TICA resource with a defined group.

A workshop license may include:

  • A specified number of participant workbooks
  • An instructor or facilitator guide
  • Permission to print or distribute materials to one cohort
  • Presentation materials when available
  • Activities and discussion prompts
  • Limited permission to deliver the program during an agreed period

Additional cohorts, participants, facilitators, or locations may require an expanded license.

Organizational Distribution

Organizational licenses are designed for hospitals, hospice organizations, medical practices, community centers, educational institutions, economic development organizations, government agencies, nonprofits, membership organizations, and other entities that want to distribute a resource to the people they serve.

Organizational licenses may be based on:

  • Number of copies or participating households
  • Number of staff members or facilitators
  • Number of locations
  • Length of the license period
  • Digital or printed distribution
  • Workshop or facilitated use
  • Internal portal access
  • Updates and revised editions

Licenses may be structured for a single program, one location, multiple locations, or annual organizational use.

Co-Branded and Customized Editions

Selected resources may be available with the purchasing organization’s name, logo, introduction, contact information, or local resource directory.

Co-branding does not transfer ownership of the underlying content. TICA Learning Systems retains the copyright and intellectual property rights unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.

Customization involving substantial content changes, local regulations, state-specific information, new exercises, or organization-specific procedures is quoted separately.

Train-the-Facilitator Programs

Some TICA resources may be offered with facilitator training. These programs prepare approved staff members to use the workbook and related instructional materials consistently.

A train-the-facilitator license may specify:

  • The number of authorized facilitators
  • The programs they are permitted to deliver
  • The organizations or locations covered
  • Participant-copy requirements
  • The length of the authorization
  • Required updates or refresher training

Completing facilitator training does not grant permission to reproduce, resell, modify, or teach other facilitators unless those rights are expressly included.

What Is Not Permitted

Unless specifically authorized in writing, TICA materials may not be:

  • Copied or distributed beyond the purchased license
  • Uploaded to a public website or shared drive
  • Emailed to an unrestricted distribution list
  • Resold or included in another paid product
  • Edited, shortened, translated, or repackaged
  • Presented under another organization’s name
  • Used to create a competing guide, workbook, course, or workshop
  • Shared across multiple professionals, departments, or locations
  • Used to train additional facilitators
  • Used after the license period has ended

How the Licensing Process Works

1. Tell Us How You Plan to Use the Resource

Provide the product name, anticipated number of users, number of facilitators, delivery format, locations, and expected period of use.

2. Receive a Licensing Recommendation

TICA will recommend the license that fits the intended use and provide a written quote.

3. Review and Accept the Agreement

The agreement will describe the authorized users, distribution rights, duration, fees, attribution requirements, and any customization or update terms.

4. Receive the Licensed Materials

After the agreement is completed and payment is received, TICA will provide the approved materials and instructions for their use.
